The Rann of Kutch — the world's largest salt desert — transforms every year between October and March into the stage for India's most visually spectacular festival. Gujarat Tourism's Rann Utsav began as a modest cultural event and has grown into an international phenomenon, drawing visitors from over 50 countries and earning Dhordo village recognition from the UNWTO (United Nations World Tourism Organisation) as a Best Tourism Village — one of only a handful of such designations in India.

What makes Rann Utsav singular is the combination: the sheer physical drama of the White Rann at sunset, when the salt crystals catch the last light and the entire horizon turns amber and rose; the folk performances that follow, with artists from the Mir, Mutwa, and Rabari communities performing music and dance traditions that stretch back centuries; and the bonfire dinners where the star-filled desert sky above feels close enough to touch.
