DistanceTrains from Ernakulam Junction (ERS) connect to Mumbai or Ahmedabad. From there, change for Bhuj. Long but comfortable in AC sleeper.
Duration from Kochi: 40–48 hours total
Fly from Cochin International Airport (COK) to Ahmedabad — the most practical option. From Ahmedabad, drive 5–6 hours or fly onward to Bhuj.
Plan Your Visit
Kochi has consistently warm weather year-round, so the Rann's December–February window of 18–26°C days and 7–12°C nights is a proper temperature change. November and February work as shoulder months without the Christmas–New Year price surge. Most Kochi families travel during the December school break or Pongal long weekend (mid-January). Avoid late October when post-monsoon flight prices from Kerala remain high and sleep-inducing humidity persists at home. Skip mid-March when Bhuj daytime temperatures climb past 32°C — the Rann experience genuinely peaks in cold weather.

Yes — our chef prepares pure-vegetarian and Jain meals (no onion/garlic/root vegetables) on 24-hour advance notice. South Indian breakfast options including idli and dosa are also part of our standard menu.
Significantly colder. Kochi winter averages 23–32°C; Dhordo at the same time is 7–12°C at night. The temperature drop is real — pack a heavy fleece, thermal layers, and a windcheater. Most Kerala guests find it enjoyable rather than uncomfortable.
For Kochi travellers we strongly recommend the 3 Nights / 4 Days package. The flight time and travel cost is the same regardless of duration; the longer stay maximises your investment. Three nights also let you cover the Dholavira UNESCO day trip.
