A scenic drive through Rajasthan and into Gujarat, passing through Ahmedabad on the way to Bhuj. Udaipur travellers effectively join the same corridor used by our Jaipur guide once past Palanpur, so a joint departure with Jaipur-based family members is easy to coordinate.

DistanceConnect via Palanpur or Ahmedabad for trains to Bhuj. Sleeper trains are comfortable for this journey, and the Rajasthan-into-Gujarat scenery through the window is reason enough for some travellers to pick rail over road.
Duration from Udaipur: 12–14 hours
Fly from Maharana Pratap Airport, Udaipur to Ahmedabad, then drive or fly onwards to Bhuj. At around 550 km total, this is one of the shorter distances on our list, so most Udaipur guests find the road trip more rewarding than a flight-plus-layover combination.

No — the practical air route is Udaipur–Ahmedabad (1 hour) then drive 5 hours to Dhordo. Connecting flights via Mumbai are available but rarely save time.
