OVERVIEW
What Is Rann Utsav?
Rann Utsav — the Rann of Kutch Festival — is the cultural celebration that Gujarat Tourism has hosted in the White Rann each winter since 2005. Set in a vast tent city built on the edge of the salt desert near the village of Dhordo, the festival pairs the otherworldly landscape of the White Rann with three months of folk performances, handicraft exhibitions, desert safaris, full moon nights and Kutchi cuisine. It is now the largest tent-stay festival in India, and one of the most distinctive cultural experiences in the country.
The Rann Utsav 2026-27 edition runs across the full festival window — 5 November 2026 to 4 March 2027 — and the Dhordo Tent City offers more than 400 tents in three categories: standard non-AC tents from ₹5,900 per person, AC Deluxe tents, and the premium Rajwadi tents inspired by traditional Rajasthani royal designs. Whether you are visiting for the full moon, a long weekend, Diwali Week, the Christmas to New Year stretch or simply a few quiet desert days, this guide brings together everything you need to plan, price and book your trip — and links you to the deeper, city-by-city and date-by-date guides that follow.
